Sometimes Object /Sometimes Subject
This work deals with notions of exchange between spectator and object. There are infinite networks of connections we share with objects. We would be hard pressed to achieve identity and well being without many of the objects and the experiences they invoke. These objects also form part of the chain of signification's that trace, however, tenably the construction of self. This construction process assumes that we acculturate our environments by physically and psychically incorporating elements of our world within our psyche both personally and collectively. Nothing comes for free; everything, including subjectivity must pay in order to play. My project in part has been to intervene in the semiotic machinery of the world, just as it intervenes in mine. Sometimes Objects/ Sometimes Subjects is a project engaged with mapping the losses and? gains through our ever increasing connection with the world.
