I do not want to defend history
the possibility of remembering what happened cant be trusted
you memories beyond the immediate past
you can only see it once its past
the possibility of disturbing work happens
you have got to have that risk
to be comfortable with the possibilities
what is contemporary art
what people are doing now is contemporary
you dont know what to explore
artists just did the work
somebody has to choose
you cant judge history and time for art
defending the many other ways of being an artist
catch 22 being of your time
it says a lot about its time
we can only see work of its time in the past
greatest hits
are we observing possibilities
god created fossils just to give you a fictional past
everything exists has a tail
there are all these discrepancies
why bother creating all these fossils
no history to test anything
they were created in a vacuum
we are just dealing with givens
is it possible to create a strategy
it is absurd to make work that is a spirit of our time
how can we find out what the problem is when we dont know
I dont know how to put in to words
futile what we are doing
can make a work about a theory at the time
after the point of making it
throwing a handgrenade and seeing the effect
an entrance point
you have a responsibility to stand back
point of illustration
physical or emotional
not logical ways of thinking
making work about abuse
not illustrating documenting
innovating
we come with all this shit
a lot of ideas that come out of work
everything was being to compared to what was being done
against the odds
wrote about theory and practice
having the ideology first
