Video Of Stanislaus Ostoja-Kotkowski Theremin Performance

For those that missed it. The performance of Larry Sitsky’s 1975 piece The Legions of Asmodeus, re-performed on four theremins including one by Stanislaus Ostoja-Kotkowski on which the piece had been initially performed in front of Prime Minister Gough Whitlam in 1975, and which was restored by Alistair Riddell and Stephen Jones with a RSHA grant I got, is available at:

  1. Stephen Jones Says:

Actually the restoration was done entirely by Stephen Jones. I just used Alistair Riddell’s office to put all the kit together. Along with the antenna from one of Stan Ostoja-Kotkowski’s original set of theremins I assembled three new theremin antennae and four new theremin electronic packs. I based the circuit on the one in Popular Electronics of July 1969, The circuit design and assembly was done in my facility in Sydney and the antennae were made from three sheets of light stainless steel with patterns similar to Stan’s ground into the steel by the workshop manager art the Art School at ANU (sadly I don’t remember his name). Just setting the record straight.
